So, I'm throwing myself a tiny pity party. My heel was injured last week. I've been taking it easy, but it's not getting better, so I went to the doctor today. She would say it is tendinitis, except the pain is only in one spot, so she had me get X-rays done. I'm still to ice it and she prescribed me motrin for the pain. Hoping for the best and that I won't be down for too long.
So here's my pity party: Why so many obstacles in my way when I'm trying to get healthy? My body needs to get over it, I'm going to lose this weight. At least I can still do some Pilates :)
Progress. The other day I was measuring my arms to see if I've lost some inches, centimeters, even a millimeter...lol Nope, nothing. However, I did happen to notice something I've never noticed before. I can flex my arms! If you've known me a long time, you know that even in my skinny days my bi-ceps were laughable. In high school PE, people would turn to watch me during push ups. My arms would be shaking, sweat pouring from my face (ok not really sweat, maybe it was tears...lol), and I still could not lift myself off the floor to complete a single push up. When I tried to flex, a muscle would appear, then someone would push on it and show me how not-a-muscle it really was. Yep, my bi-ceps were non-existent. But not anymore! I can flex, you can push on it and it stays! So exciting. I'd take a picture and post it, but you can't see it with all the fat hanging down from my arms...lol But my hubby can see it, so I'm good with that :) Who knows, maybe I'll finally be able to complete my first push up soon. Hey, it could happen :)
I am so sorry about your heel injury. Yes there are some things you can do to exercise, but understandably that is really frustrating! On the Biggest Looser Season 8, one of the ladies gets a stress fracture in her knee, and she is pretty much banished to the swimming pool for the rest of the time she is there. THAT would be so frustrating! Hope you heal up quickly! :)
